Training and Methods Used In Practice
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – a treatment technique to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR helps you process negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that impact the present to help you diminish emotional reactivity and develop healthy responses.
- Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) – a relationship based therapy where couples learn how to create new and effective patterns of understanding and communication in deeper, intimate and more mutually satisfying ways.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) – a method for individual therapy, which incorporates a deep understanding of protections that we create for ourselves early in life, in order to manage difficult and painful experiences. Through this method, clients learn to understand how these parts of themselves have served them in the past, but as adults, become mal-adaptive behaviors that interfere with daily function and relationships. This process leads to core changes in clients that enable them to live more self-fulfilling and secure lives.
- Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – a type of therapy in which negative patterns of thoughts and beliefs about the self and the world are observed and challenged in order to change unwanted emotional and behavioral patterns. Clients can then view stressful situations more clearly and respond to them in more effective ways.
- Relaxation and Stress Management – clients learn essential relaxation and mindfulness skills in order to minimize the harmful physiological, emotional and behavioral symptoms caused by the inability to control and manage stress effectively.
